Celebrate Fairbury's History
First
Weekend in June
The first weekend in June gives locals and visitors a chance to travel back in
time when covered wagons and the new railroad were the principle means of transportation
along the trails that cut through the Fairbury area in southeast Nebraska.
Rock Creek Station State
Historical Park, located 6 miles southeast of Fairbury along the Oregon Trail
will play host to many activities including Black Powder demonstrations, Living
History demonstrations, Mounted Cowboy Shootout and Buffalo Stew Cookout. Click

Ride on
miniature railroad, enjoy exhibits and musical entertianment,
the flea market, and model train displays at the Historic Rock
Island Depot, located at 2nd (Bacon Road) and I Streets in Fairbury.
The Fairbury Rock
Island Depot, has
been lovingly restored and filled with artifacts recounting the history
of the Rock Island Railroad and the local residents who worked out
of the Fairbury depot.
