The third weekend in September marks the Steele City Flea Market & Living History Weekend. Steele City is located just 12 miles southeast of Fairbury on Hwy 8.

There will be blacksmithing and horseshoeing demonstrations, a working saw and shingles mill, old farm machinery show and tours of historic buildings, which comprise the Steele City Historic District.

Beer Garden and Street Dance, band plays 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Steele City Rural Volunteer Fire Department, Proceeds support the department. Raffle to be held.
