02/01/2012 - FAIRBURY – The Alzheimer's Caregivers Support Group will meet on Monday, Feb. 27, at 6 p.m. in the Solarium Conference Room at Jefferson Community Health Center.

The program will be a DVD, "Caregivers," about caring for people in different stages of Alzheimer's Disease. We will be watching Part 2. The program is designed so segments can be watched individually.

A support group is a gathering of people with common problems, needs and interests which allows them to share their feelings, thoughts and experiences in a combined effort to survive the shared problems. It may include family members, caregivers, friends and other individuals interested in sharing information and giving and receiving support.

Those who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease themselves are also welcome to attend the meetings.

The support group is open to anyone interested in attending. There is no charge and no membership commitment. No pre-registration is necessary

02/01/2012 - FAIRBURY –The Parkinson's Support Group will meet on Monday, Feb. 6, at 10 a.m. in the Solarium Conference Room at Jefferson Community Health Center.

The program will be a DVD, "Understanding Pain in Parkinson's," by Jeffrey Wertheimer, PhD.

The Parkinson's Support Group typically meets on the first Monday of each month at JCHC. The group is designed to provide an opportunity for area residents to share their experiences with Parkinson’s disease.

02/01/2012 - FAIRBURY – The topic for the next Health Today session at Jefferson Community Health Center will be “The Heart of Hospice … Hope” by Val Weishahn, RNCM (Registered Nurse Case Manager) with AseraCare Hospice.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 16, with the program beginning at 12:15 p.m. The program is held in the southwing education room. Enter through the door marked “Education Room.”

Health Today is a free noon-hour program offering health and wellness information to area residents. “Health Today” programs are typically scheduled for the third Thursday of each month.

A light lunch is available at noon for a free will donation. Guests are also welcome to bring a lunch to eat during the program.
