Hands of the Potter

Following the tradition of earlier regional potters, I use clay from southeast Nebraska to create objects for everyday use.

I collect, refine and process this clay by hand, Anagama Wood-Fired Vessels by Bill Robbins using home made equipment, then fire the pots in a kiln of my own design and construction to a temperature of 2300 degrees F. This produces a hard dense stoneware pottery, impervious to water.I have persisted in this ancient handcraft in the face of worldwide industrialization for 30 years because I believe handmade pottery possesses a humanness and warmth missing in a machine made product.I hope my pots bring these qualities into your home and life.
